Detrez Marion Killed in Truck Accident in Mississippi County, AR

Mississippi County, AR — May 19, 2023, Detrez Marion was fatally injured following a semi-truck accident at around 5:15 a.m. along Interstate 55.

Authorities with the Arkansas Department of Public Safety said they were called out to the area of I-55 mile marker 38 in rural Mississippi County.

Their current summary shows that 21-year-old Detrez Marion was the driver of an International truck going northbound along the interstate. For reasons which are not clear at this time, the International somehow collided with a Freightliner that was also going northbound.

Due to the collision, Marion sustained injuries that proved fatal. There were no other listed injuries in current statements. Right now, authorities do not report a suspected cause for the accident. Conditions appeared to have been dry at the time of the crash. Investigations are still ongoing.
