Abbas Jafarizad Fakhri Injured in Truck Accident in Irving, TX

Irving, TX — May 6, 2023, Abbas Jafarizad Fakhri was injured by an allegedly fatigued and high truck driver around 1 p.m. on W. Northwest Hwy. in Irving.

Officials report the victim was in a Jeep Cherokee traveling south on W. Las Colinas Blvd. in a designated turn lane attempting a left-hand turn to go east on W. Northwest Hwy. when his vehicle was allegedly struck by an eastbound Freightliner semi-truck.

Authorities report Mr. Fakhri's Cherkoee had a green light authorizing his turn and that the semi-truck ran a red light. This purportedly caused the Cherokee's nose the strike the driver-side of the semi-trailer, just in front of the wheels. Authorities also report the forward axel of the semi-trailer broke resulting in the semi-truck becoming disabled.

Abbas Jafarizad Fakhri reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the collision and was transported to a local hospital.

Officials allegedly conducted a vehicle inspection on the semi-truck and reportedly found that the truck driver had falsified hours-of-service logs, was fatigued, was in possession of marijuana, and was under the influence of drugs. The toxicology results for the truck driver are purportedly pending.
