Man Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on Highway 195 in Killeen, TX

Killeen, TX — May 18, 2023, a man was killed and one person was injured following a truck accident at around 8:14 a.m. along Highway 195.

Preliminary details about the crash were given by Killeen Police. Their department currently says the crash occurred in the area of Highway 195 and Chaparral Road.

Statements indicate that a Killeen local was in a Toyota car that was going northbound along the highway. The Toyota stopped for a red light and was waiting there, according to authorities, when a Chevy pickup truck pulling a trailer somehow failed to slow down. The truck crashed into the back of the Toyota.

As a result of the collision, the Toyota driver had critical injuries. They were taken to a hospital, but their injuries ultimately proved fatal. The driver of the Chevy had injuries described as minor. Right now, the exact cause of the crash remains unclear. No charges or citations have been reported pending further investigations.
