According to initial statements, a Chevy Tahoe was crossing through the intersection while southbound along the highway. Details suggest that the Chevy had a green light at the time. While in the crossing, it appears that a Freightliner truck going northbound allegedly attempted a left turn while their light was red. This caused the vehicles to collide.

As a result of the collision, a 25-year-old passenger in the Chevy succumbed to fatal injuries. A 38-year-old, a 22-year-old, and a 24-year-old from the same vehicle were injured. The 38-year-old's injuries were described as serious.

Currently, factors surrounding the crash are still under investigation. Authorities have not yet confirmed any citations or charges pending further investigations into the wreck.
