Multiple Injured in Charter Bus Accident on Cedar Ave. in Pittsburgh, PA

Pittsburgh, PA — May 10, 2023, at least five people were injured in a head-on collision involving a charter bus around 10 a.m. on Cedar Ave. in Pittsburgh.

According to officials, a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus was southbound on Ceder Ave. passing the intersection with Suismon St. when it collided head-on with a black Toyota crossover/hatchback which was traveling north on Ceder Ave.

The driver of the Toyota was incapacitated in the crash.

The google maps images of this location show a bus stop, and videos of the crash cleanup show the bus stopped partially in front of that bus stop and in the walking path that crosses Ceder Ave. at that location. The road appears to have had several parked vehicles on both sides of the road when the crash occurred.

The speed limit for this section of Ceder Ave. is 25 miles an hour, but authorities have not released if the vehicle may have had a defect causing that driver to be incapacitated. Additionally, authorities have not said if the bus was stopped at the bus stop when the crash happen, or if it pulled off the side of the road after the accident.
