Nuzhat Baig Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on U.S. Hwy. 290 in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — February 6, 2023, Nuzhat Baig was injured in a four-vehicle accident around 5:57 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 290 in Austin.

Sources report a Nissan sedan, a Hyundai Elantra, a Mercedez-Benz sedan, and Mr. Baig's Nissan Rouge were all eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 290, just west of U.S. Hwy. 183, prior to the accident.

In the right lane, the Mercedez-Benz sedan was in front of the others. Directly behind it was the Hyundai Elantra, which was followed by the Nissan sedan. Mr. Baig's Nissan Rouge was reportedly in the left lane of the three-lane highway.

Officials report the Mercedez-Benz sedan and Hyundai Elantra were slowing down due to traffic but that the Nissan sedan failed to control its speed.

The Nissan sedan allegedly attempted to avoid striking the Elantra by turning toward its driver's side. However, the passenger side of the Nissan sedan's hood still struck the back left side of the Elantra. This collision reported forced the Elantra forward so it in turn struck the Mercedez-Benz sedan.

The Nissan sedan then reportedly continued forward in its new direction and collided with the rear passenger door of Mr. Baig's Nissan Rouge.

Nuzhat Baig purportedly suffered incapacitating injuries, and a passenger in the Elantra is reported to have possible injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Officials have not reported what caused Nuzhat Baig's injuries to be incapacitating.
