James Wenzler Killed in Truck Accident in West Memphis, AR

Crittenden County, AR — May 17, 2023, James Wenzler was fatally injured as the result of a semi-truck accident at around 12:55 p.m. along I-55.

According to initial details about the crash released by the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place near I-55 mile marker 1 along northbound lanes of the interstate.

Officials said in their preliminary statements that 76-year-old James Wenzler was in a Chevy Malibu that was going northbound on the interstate. For reasons which were not made clear, the Chevy somehow crashed into the back of a Volvo semi-truck.

Due to this collision, Wenzler ultimately succumbed to fatal injuries. There were no other injuries, according to authorities. Details suggest road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck. There is no further information about what may have led to the fatal crash. Investigations are ongoing.
