Russell Mullican Killed in Truck Accident on I-40 in Wheeler County, TX

Wheeler County, TX — May 16, 2023, Russell Mullican was killed in a collision with a semi-truck around 11:54 p.m. on I-40 in Wheeler County.

Preliminary details in public reports indicate that the fatal wreck happened about 11 miles outside of the town of Shamrock.

According to authorities, the victim's Dodge Ram 3500 and its trailer were eastbound when it allegedly rear-ended a tractor-trailer. The impact forced the Dodge Ram 3500 to swerve off the road to the south. The 18-wheeler driver allegedly told authorities his truck was stopped on the right-hand shoulder because a check engine light had come on.

Mr. Mullican was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The semi-truck driver was reportedly uninjured.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash at this time.
