Lynn Fleming Killed in Loose Truck Tool Accident in Whitfield County, GA

Whitfield County, GA — May 16, 2023, Lynn Fleming was fatally injured as the result of a loose truck tool accident along Interstate 75.

Investigators with the Georgia State Police said that the incident took place along southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of West Nance Springs Road.

According to officials, a vehicle was going along southbound lanes of the interstate when, according to investigators, a tool went through the vehicle's windshield, hitting the passenger. The passenger, now identified in the news as Lynn Fleming, died as a result of the accident. There were no other injuries reported.

At this time, officials say that the object was a "cargo winch chain binder bar." It's unclear right now if police have been in contact with the truck that lost the tool. They do not report any charges at this time. Currently, no further information about the crash is available as investigations continue.
