Rita Neumann, Gaylon Ray Neumann Injured in Truck Accident in Waxahachie, TX

Waxahachie, TX — May 3, 2023, Rita Neumann and Gaylon Ray Neumann were injured in a truck accident around 5:48 a.m. on U.S. Hwy. 287 in Waxahachie.

According to authorities, the victims were Toyota Highlander in the middle of the intersection at W. U.S. Hwy. 281 Bypass and Sardis St. attempting a left-turn to go east when it was struck by a southbound Ford F-250. This collision purportedly forced the Highlander to spin into the southbound lanes, just south of the intersection. Officials say a southbound International semi-truck attempted an evasive maneuver but caused the truck to jack-knife. The semi-truck trailer then reportedly slid into the Highlander.

Rita Neumann, the front-seat passenger of the Highlander, was purportedly taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Gaylon Ray Neumann, the driver of the Highlander, reportedly suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities are still looking into the cause of the crash.
