Cyclist Injured in Truck Tire Accident on Main Street in Springfield, CO

Springfield, CO — May 15, 2023, a bicyclist sustained injuries as the result of a truck accident at around 9:00 p.m. along Main Street.

Local media appears to have given little attention to the incident, as few details are currently available. Out There Colorado reported on the incident, saying that it happened as a bicyclist was traveling along Main Street (U.S. Highway 287).

While near a commercial truck, it appears that one of the truck's tires somehow shredded off the wheel. The shredded tire apparently then flew through the air and struck the cyclist. As a result of the accident, the man on the bicycle reportedly sustained serious injuries. Details about the semi driver involved or the condition of the vehicle has not been made clear at this time. According current information, Springfield Police did not provide any additional details about factors surrounding the wreck.
