Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha Killed, 2 Injured in Truck Accident in Coryell County, TX

Coryell County, TX — May 15, 2023, Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha was killed and two were injured following a truck accident at around 6:00 p.m. on Highway 36.

Preliminary details from Texas DPS officials indicate that the incident happened near Jonesboro along the highway.

It appears that 32-year-old Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha was a passenger in a Ford F-350 that was traveling westbound along the highway. It appears that pickup truck lost control on the wet roadway, and it hydroplaned into oncoming lanes. There, an eastbound Chevy pickup truck with a trailer crashed with the Ford.

As a result of the collision, Gonzalez-Rocha sustained injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. The two drivers involved were both taken to a local hospital. The severity of their injuries wasn't specified. It's unclear at this time if anyone else was hurt due to the collision. Right now, the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
