Two Children Injured in School Bus vs. Truck Accident in Wallingford, IA
Wallingford, IA — May 2, 2023, two children were injured when a school bus collided with a semi-truck around 4:21 p.m. at 240th St. and 490th Ave.
Sources report bus driver Travis Schueller stopped the North Central School District bus at a stop sign before continuing into the intersection of 240th St. and 490th Ave. While driving through the intersection an International semi-truck reportedly struck the middle of the bus and forced it to overturn onto the driver's side. The bus reportedly came to a rest partially on the dirt road and partially in the roadside ditch.
Two children, four and five years old, were purportedly transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Some sources report the school bus was turning and that Mr. Schueller was cited for not obeying a stop sign, but these reports have not been confirmed by authorities.
