Monica Arthur Killed, Jaidon Gentry Injured in Car Accident in Gregg County, TX

Gregg County, TX — May 14, 2023, Monica Arthur was killed and Jaidon Gentry was injured following a car accident Sunday afternoon along Highway 149.

Preliminary information provided by Texas Department of Public Safety officials indicates that the crash happened along the highway in the area of the Younger Road intersection.

According to reports, 53-year-old Monica E. Arthur was in a vehicle that was going westbound along Highway 149. 20-year-old Jaidon Gentry was said to be the driver of a vehicle going eastbound. Police said that they believe the eastbound vehicle was making a turn onto Younger at the time when the westbound vehicle crashed into it.

As a result of the collision, Arthur was taken to a hospital where officials later pronounced her deceased. Gentry was also reportedly taken to a hospital and had unspecified injuries. No other injuries have been reported at this time. Currently, factors leading up to the crash remain unconfirmed pending further investigations.
