One Injured in Five-Vehicle Truck Accident on I-45 in Walker County, TX

Walker County, TX — April 21, 2023, one person was injured in a seven-vehicle collision, including two semi-trucks, around 7:51 p.m. on I-45 in Walker County.

Sources report a driver of a Kenworth semi-truck was seriously injured while traveling south o I-45 when a tire on his truck's left, front, street axle popped. The blown tired allegedly caused the driver to lose control of the truck and the semi veered into a railing on its passenger side. This impact allegedly caused mechanical issues for the truck's rear tandem axle and its rear left tag axle.

The tread from the semi-truck tire reportedly caused damage to two passenger vehicles also traveling south. Debris from the truck sliding on the highway railing reportedly went into the northbound lanes and caused damage to a northbound semi-truck and a northbound passenger vehicle.

Officials report that only the Kenworth truck driver was injured.
