Missouri City Man Killed in Truck Accident on I-45 in Rice, TX

Navarro County, TX — April 18, 2023, a Missouri City man was fatally injured as the result of a semi-truck accident at around 11:31 a.m. along I-45.

Authorities have released information from their initial investigations surrounding the fatal truck wreck. They say it occurred along the northbound lanes of the interstate in the area of mile marker 239.

According to officials, a 53-year-old Missouri City man was behind the wheel of a Volvo semi-truck pulling a trailer northbound on I-45. For reasons which remain unconfirmed at this time, the tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the road. There, the semi-truck then overturned, ejecting the driver.

Details indicate that the Missouri City man sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. There were no others said to have been involved in the crash. Right now, factors surrounding the crash remain unclear. Authorities claim that they did not see any brake markers leading to the crash site. Their statements indicate that weather was cloudy, but it was daylight and the road was dry. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
