Ciro Hererra Vargas Injured in Alleged Drunk Driving Accident in McAllen, TX

McAllen, TX — March 26, 2023, Ciro Hererra Vargas was injured by an alleged drunk driver around 3:04 p.m. on W. Houston Ave. in McAllen.

According to officials, the victim was standing on the passenger side of a parked Ford F-150, in a parking lot just east of S. 11th St., when he was struck by a Ford Ranger. The Ranger had allegedly exited a gas station parking lot, to travel westbound, but never properly entered the roadway, drove through a wooden fence, and then hit Mr. Vargas and the Ford F-150. The collision purportedly forced the Ford F-150 into a Toyota Tacoma which was parked next to it.

Mr. Hererra Vargas was purportedly transported to a hospital with serious injuries, while the Ford Ranger driver reportedly suffered possible injuries.

Police recommended charging the Ford Ranger driver with Inxotication Assault and Driving Without License.
