New Mexico Man Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on U.S. 87 in Hartley County, TX

Hartley County, TX — April 18, 2023, a New Mexico man was injured due to a tractor-trailer accident that happened at around 12:13 p.m. on U.S. Highway 87.

According to preliminary details released by authorities, the crash took place near mile marker 74 and involved just one vehicle, said to be a Kenworth tractor-trailer.

Police officials believe that a 41-year-old Gallup, New Mexico man was behind the wheel of the semi truck that was going westbound along the highway. For reasons which are not clear at this time, the 18-wheeler ran off the right side of the road. As a result, the tractor-trailer flipped over.

The New Mexico man was said to have incapacitating injuries as a result of the collision. No one else was reportedly involved, according to officials. The exact circumstances leading up to the crash are unconfirmed at this time. It appears lighting and road conditions were clear at the time of the crash. No further information is currently available.
