One Killed, Douglas Mann, Kathy Mann, One Injured in Alleged Drunk Driving Accident in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — April 24, 2023, one person was killed, Douglas Mann, Kathy Mann, and one other were injured by an alleged drunk driver around 2:31 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 290 in Austin.

According to officials three passenger cars collided in West Oak Hill, Austin just west of U.S. Hwy. 290's intersection with Circle Dr./S. View Rd.

Authorities report a Nissan Altima, driven by an allegedly drunk driver, was traveling the wrong way on the westbound side of U.S. Hwy. 290 when it collided head-on with the Mann's Lexus RX 350. This collision reportedly forced both the Nissan and the Lexus to rotate counter-clockwise which then purportedly caused the rear of the Lexus to collide with a westbound Toyota Camry.

Officials report the passenger in the Nissan Altima suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Mr. and Ms. Mann purportedly suffered serious injuries and the driver of the Toyota Camry reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Douglas Mann and the Camry driver were reported taken to a hospital by ambulance, while Kathy Mann was flown.

The Nissan Altima driver was reportedly air-lifted to a hospital with minor injuries. The results of his toxicology report are still pending.
