Caitlin Elizabeth Williams Injured in Semi-Truck Accident in Jefferson, TX

Jefferson, TX — April 18, 2023, Caitlin Elizabeth Williams was injured following a semi-truck accident just before 6:00 p.m. along Broadway Street.

Authorities released details about the truck wreck, which they specify happened at approximately 5:55 p.m. near the intersection of West Broadway Street (Highway 49) and Martin Luther King Street.

According to officials' statements, 32-year-old Caitlin Elizabeth Williams was in a Ford Fusion traveling westbound along Broadway. Authorities say that an oncoming tractor-trailer from the eastbound lane veered to the left, crossing paths and colliding with Williams's vehicle. The 18-wheeler then went off-road and hit a tree.

Due to the crash, Williams was left with injuries described as incapacitating. No other injuries were confirmed by authorities. According to statements, the truck driver told investigators they swerved to avoid a vehicle in front of them that was turning. Details about this alleged vehicle are unavailable. Authorities said that failure to control speed and possibly improper turning led to the crash. These and other details cannot be confirmed at this time.
