Two Injured in Alleged Hit-and-Run Accident on Hwy. 198 in Payne Springs County, TX

Payne Springs County, TX — April 20, 2023, two people were injured in an alleged hit-and-run accident around 10:24 p.m. on Hwy. 198 in Payne Springs County.

Sources report the victims were northbound in a Chevy Caprice when they were rear-ended by a Ford F-250. The driver of the Ford reportedly exited his vehicle and ran from the scene on foot before authorities arrived. Both the driver and passenger in the Caprice were purportedly extracted and taken to a medical center with incapacitating injuries.

Officials may be withholding the victims' names until the next of kin is notified.
