Sandra Gonzalez, Herlinda Guerrero Killed, Teresa Ledesma Gonzalez, Rhonda Connor Injured in Car Accident in Lamb County, TX

Lamb County, TX — May 4, 2023, Sandra Gonzalez and Herlinda Guerrero were killed and Teresa Ledesma Gonzalez and Rhonda Connor were injured after a car accident on U.S. 385.

Preliminary details about the crash said that it took place about 10 miles outside of Springlake at around 1:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 385.

It appears that the events happened as 52-year-old Teresa Ledesma Gonzalez, 54-year-old Sandra Sanchez Gonzalez, and 58-year-old Herlinda Guerrero were in a car traveling northbound along the highway. As they were going northbound, police claim that a southbound Dodge Caravan attempted to pass an 18-wheeler. At some point during this attempt, the Dodge crashed head-on into the southbound car.

As a result of the collision, both Sandra Gonzalez and Herlinda Guerrero succumbed to fatal injuries. Ledesma Gonzalez and the driver of the Dodge, identified in reports as 61-year-old Rhonda Connor, were taken to area hospitals.

At this time, no further information about factors contributing to the crash have been confirmed. The incident remains under investigation.
