JJ Moore, Teenager Killed in Box Truck Accident on Front Street in Steelton, PA

Update (May 5, 2023): Details identified the man killed in the truck accident as JJ Moore. His 15-year-old daughter was said to be the other person who succumbed to their injuries due to the crash. A 9-year-old in their vehicle, identified as Moore's son, continues to recover from his injuries. Additional details about the crash remain under investigation.

Dauphin County, PA — May 3, 2023, two people were fatally injured due to a box truck accident at around 4:00 p.m. along South Front Street.

According to preliminary information provided by Steelton and Dauphin County officials, the crash happened before 4:00 p.m. in the area of the South Front Street and Route 230 intersection. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear.

According to authorities, it appears a box truck and a passenger vehicle somehow crossed paths with one another. This led to a serious collision. As a result of that collision, one person involved died at the scene. Another apparently died following transportation to a hospital. A third person was left with injuries of unspecified severity.

Currently, authorities haven't released details concerning road conditions or visibility at the time of the wreck. They say that the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and they're encouraging any potential witnesses to come forward to help those investigations.
