One Killed in Dump Truck Rollover Accident on Phoenix Avenue in Jacksonville, FL

Jacksonville, FL — May 3, 2023, one person was killed following a dump truck rollover accident early Wednesday along Phoenix Avenue.

Investigators said that the incident took place at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Phoenix Avenue. Right now, the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear.

Authorities at this time only say that the incident happened when a dump truck overturned, landing on and crushing a car. As a result of that crash, one person sustained fatal injuries. Reports were not clear on exactly who that person was. It's also unclear at this time if anyone else had injuries following the wreck.

Details regarding possible charges or citations are unavailable currently. Investigations from Jacksonville Police and Duval County officials appear to be ongoing.
