James L. Smith, Balch Springs Man Injured in Car Accident on Lake June Road in Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX — April 16, 2023, James L. Smith and a Balch Springs man were injured due to a car accident at around 6:40 p.m. along Lake June Road.

Preliminary details about the crash given by authorities say that it happened in the area of Lake June Road and St. Augustine Drive.

Their statements say that 60-year-old James L. Smith was the driver of a Nissan Altima which was going northbound on St. Augustine. While crossing over Lake June Road, it appears the Nissan crashed into the driver's side of a Ford Focus that was going westbound through the intersection. Due to the collision, both vehicles ended up off-road.

As a result of the crash, the Ford driver was said to have apparently incapacitating injuries. Smith's injuries were described as non-incapacitating. No others were said to have been involved. Authorities suggested that their investigations looked into drunk driving as a possible contributing factor. At this time, no further information about the crash can be confirmed without additional evidence.
