Melissa Bolyer Killed in Alleged Wrong-Way Truck Accident in Bienville Parish, LA

Bienville Parish, LA — April 17, 2023, Melissa Bolyer was killed by an alleged wrong-way truck driver in the early morning on Hwy. 507 in Bienville Parish.

According to authorities, a westbound International semi-truck crossed the center lane, forced an eastbound Peterbilt semi-truck to take evasive action, struck the trailer of the Peterbilt, and then collide with the victim's eastbound 2019 Nissan Versa.

The collision between the alleged wrong-way International truck and Ms. Bolyer's Versa purportedly forced both vehicles off the road.

Melissa Bolyer suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. No other injuries were reported.

Police recommended charging the International semi-truck driver with vehicular homicide and reckless operation.
