Jayshu Carter Injured in Car Accident in Jasper County, TX

Jasper County, TX — April 1, 2023, Jayshu Carter sustained injuries following a car accident at round noon along U.S. Highway 96.

Preliminary information about the crash was given by Texas Department of Public Safety officials. Their statements said the incident happened north of Jasper near Brookeland, south of Recreational Road 255.

According to authorities, 26-year-old Jayshu Carter was in a 2013 Toyota Camry which was pulling onto travel lanes of U.S. 96. While doing so, a northbound Toyota 4Runner crashed into Carter's Camry.

Due to the crash, Carter had injuries which apparently were serious enough that they required air transportation to a hospital in Beaumont. Two people in the 4Runner were initially said to be hurt, but further information suggested they were not in serious condition. These two were not identified in public statements from authorities.

At this time, additional details regarding the cause of the crash remain unavailable.
