Pharr, TX — April 26, 2023, a pedestrian was killed due to an 18-wheeler accident early Wednesday along the I-2 Frontage Road.

Local authorities gave initial details about the fatal truck accident. Their details say the collision happened along the I-2 frontage road just off the intersection of Business 83.

According to statements about the incident, an unidentified 59-year-old man was walking at the time. As the man attempted to walk across the interstate frontage road, an 18-wheeler did not avoid him, striking the man in the roadway. That man sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. No other injuries were reported by officials.

Reports indicate that the 18-wheeler remained at the scene, and the driver spoke with police investigators. At this time, there is no indication that charges or citations are pending. Statements from witnesses are unavailable, and authorities have yet to release additional details about the accident.
