One Killed, One Injured in Truck Accident on Halsted Street in Homewood, IL

Homewood, IL — April 18, 2023, one person was killed and another was injured following a semi-truck accident at around noon on Halsted Street.

According to initial details given by Homewood Police Department officials, the crash happened along the 17800 block of Halsted Street, just off Maple Avenue.

Preliminary information says that the crash involved a Chevy sedan, a Ford SUV, and a semi-truck. The exact circumstances surrounding how the vehicles collided is still unclear at this time. As a result of the crash, it appears one person that was in the Ford SUV succumbed to fatal injuries. One person that was in the Chevy was said to have injuries, but the severity of the injuries wasn't specified. No other injuries have been confirmed at this time.

Homewood Police did not give any additional details about the fatal truck wreck. The identities of those involved remain unconfirmed, and investigations are ongoing.
