Man Killed in Pedestrian, Car Accident on North Fwy. in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — April 22, 2023, a man sustained fatal injuries due to a car accident which happened just after 2:00 a.m. along the North Freeway.

Initial details surrounding the fatal collision indicate that it happened at approximately 2:25 a.m. in the 5800 block of the North Freeway/I-45, which appears to be in North Harris County off the intersection of Cypresswood Drive.

Preliminary information from officials says that a man had been walking at the time in the area of southbound I-45. That person has not been identified by authorities. They say the pedestrian attempted to cross highway lanes. Doing so, a southbound Ford car did not avoid the man, striking him in the roadway.

Due to the severity of the collision, the unidentified pedestrian sustained fatal injuries. No one else was said to be injured due to the accident. Right now, police have not confirmed contributing factors. They say only that they do not think the driver was intoxicated at the time of the incident. No further information is available at this time.
