Officers Injured in Alleged DWI Truck Accident on I-44 near St. Louis, MO
St. Louis, MO — April 23, 2023, three police officers were injured due to an alleged DWI accident at 2:30 a.m. along I-44.
Authorities with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say that the crash happened along the eastbound lanes of I-44 in the area of Lindbergh Boulevard.

Details suggest that two Missouri State Troopers and one Glendale Police officer stopped along the interstate and activated their emergency lights due to an abandoned vehicle along the interstate. While there, details say that a tractor-trailer somehow failed to slow down and crashed into the police vehicles.
As a result of the crash, three Glendale officers had injuries which were not described as serious. After the accident, police say a driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated as well as possession of a controlled substance. Additional statements about the crash are unavailable at this time.
