Aleena Karissa Belmontes Killed in Car Accident in Edinburg, TX

Edinburg, TX — April 23, 2023, Aleena Karissa Belmontes was fatally injured in a single-vehicle car accident at around 5:44 a.m. on Seminary Road.

Preliminary details about the fatal crash say that it happened near the intersection of Seminary Road and FM 1925/Monte Cristo Road.

Information from the Texas Department of Public Safety says that the driver, 21-year-old Aleena Belmontes, was the driver of a Jeep Wrangler going along Seminary Road. For reasons which remain unconfirmed at this time, the Jeep Wrangler lost control and swerved off-road. There, the Jeep then crashed into a tree and overturned.

Belmontes sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Reports at this time do not mention anyone else being involved in the crash. The condition of the roadway at the time of the crash is unclear. Details about potential witnesses are unclear, as well. Authorities continue to investigate the factors leading up to the crash.
