Ama Coble Killed in Truck Accident in Wright County, MO

Wright County, MO — April 7, 2023, Ama Coble was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer around 10;05 a.m. on Hwy. 5 in Hartville.

Officials report the victim's southbound Buick Lesabre collided with a northbound Peterbilt semi-truck near the Gasconade River about four miles south of Hartville, MO.

The collision's impact reportedly forced the semi-truck off the road where it then overturned. Officials have not said what the crash did to the victim's Lesabre, but Ms. Coble suffered fatal injuries. The truck driver reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Highway 5 is a two-lane highway and at the bridge over the Gasconade River, the painted lines, indicating permission to pass, switch sides. North of the bridge southbound traffic is allowed to attempt passing by driving into the "wrong way" lanes of traffic. South of the bridge northbound traffic has permission to pass. Authorities have not released the exact location of the accident, so it is unknown if one of the vehicles was trying a passing maneuver.
