Alfredo Huerta Jr. Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in Lufkin, TX

It appears that 23-year-old Alfredo Huerta Jr. was in a vehicle going westbound along Old Union road. For reasons unclear, the vehicle ran off-road where it crashed into a tree. As a result, Huerta sustained fatal injuries.

No further information about the crash is available right now. I can only hope that doesn't lead to a bunch of people jumping to conclusions. It's all too common after single-vehicle wrecks for people to ignore the many possible factors that can cause these wrecks without the victims being able to avoid them. Just because things like distracted driving or speeding are common doesn't mean they're automatically to blame. If nothing else, shouldn't steps be taken to ensure a victim's loved ones are getting the whole story?
