Letha Thomas, James Thomas Injured in Car Accident in Riverside, TX

Riverside, TX — November 18, 2022, Letha Thomas and James Thomas were injured in a car accident around 12:18 p.m. on Highway 19 in Riverside.

According to authorities, Letha and James Thomas's Dodge Ram 1500, which had a green arrow, attempted a left turn from F.M. 980 onto Hwy. 19 facing southbound when it was struck by a southbound Dodge Grand Caravan.

The Dodge Grand Caravan's nose struck the back passenger side door of Letha and James Thomas's Dodge Ram 1500. The collision reportedly forced the Ram 1500 to overturn onto its roof and spin so the nose was pointed northbound. The Dodge Grand Caravan reportedly continued for several feet before coming to a stop.

Police report that a gas station camera depicted the Dodge Grand Caravan disregarding a red light.

Letha Thomas and James Thomas both reportedly suffered serious, incapacitating injuries. The four occupants in the Dodge Grand Caravan all reportedly had minor injuries.

All six people were transported for medical treatment.

The speed limit for Highway 19 is 55 mp. The weather was reportedly clear.

The reason for Letha Thomas and James Thomas sustaining serious injuries will need further investigation.
