Alejandro Soto Martinez Killed in Work Accident in Brookston, TX

Brookston, TX — May 17, 2022, Alejandro Soto Martinez was killed after an accident on a work site off Highway 82 West where an ATV overturned.

In their public statements, Occupational Safety and Health Administration said the incident happened at around 11:15 a.m. in the 7700 block of Highway 82 West, just off County Road 33010.

According to the incident summary, 42-year-old Alejandro Soto Martinez was driving an ATV to move tools and works throughout a construction site. While making a turn, the vehicle somehow lost control and overturned, ejecting Martinez. It appears Martinez sustained head injuries which ultimately proved fatal.

Details given in the OSHA reports included at least one alleged violation. They listed it as a "serious" violation. Their recommendation for a penalty was listed as $3,480, but the final status of the penalties and confirmation on alleged violations requires more thorough investigations. No further information is available at this time.
