Delivery Driver Injured in Truck Accident on Fulton Street in Berkeley, CA

Berkeley, CA -- March 15, 2023, a delivery driver was injured after an accident where a truck hit them along Fulton Street.

Authorities said that the incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. along Fulton Street just off of Bancroft. It appears that a food delivery driver was returning to his van, which was parked along the bike lane. While doing so, the side mirror of a truck struck the man, causing serious injuries. The truck driver remained at the scene. No further information is available at this time.

There are a lot of questions yet to be answered here. Where exactly was the victim's van? How visible was he in the roadway? Should the truck driver have been able to avoid hitting the victim? Did they see the victim but just mistakenly thought they had room to pass safely? Is there any kind of history of accidents either with the driver or with this particular stretch of road? These are just some of the questions that a thorough investigation will need to answer.
