Austin, TX -- March 12, 2023, one person was killed and two were injured following an accident where vehicles collided along US 290.

Right now, the exact cause of the crash remains unclear. Authorities said that an SUV and a pickup somehow collided, killing the driver of the SUV. Two people in the pickup had injuries that were described as non-serious. Right now, additional details are unavailable.

It's unfortunate there aren't more details this long after the crash, but it would surprise people to see just how complex a crash like this can be. Just because there aren't 18-wheelers or several vehicles involved doesn't mean there aren't challenges that require experience and state-of-the-art tools. I just hope authorities are dedicating their efforts to this situation so they can ensure those involved here can get the answers they deserve, however simple they may or may not be.
