Kristina Betts, Gonzalo Chirino Garcia, 3 Injured in Car Accident in Plano, TX

Plano, TX -- February 18, 2023, Kristina Betts, Gonzalo Chirino Garcia, and three others were injured after a car accident.

Authorities said that the incident happened at approximately 10:47 p.m. along Preston Road at the intersection of Plano Parkway.

It appears that a BMW was eastbound on West Plano Parkway at the time. A Toyota Camry was westbound. The BMW apparently went through a red left turn arrow, crashing with the oncoming Camry.

Details from authorities identified two of the people involved in the crash as Gonzalo Chirino Garcia and Kristina Betts, the latter of which was said to have incapacitating injuries. Three other victims remain unidentified.

Right now, police mentioned alcohol as a possible contributing factor in the crash. This would require more evidence to confirm for certain, so of course folks should take that with a grain of salt. For all we know, there are extenuating circumstances authorities overlooked and haven't yet brought to light in the public eye. I've handled many situations where that turned out to be the case.

But I've also had countless people come to me after being affected by an alcohol-related crash. It's an all too common situation here in Texas, which is why it's important that people take steps to learn what Texas law says about their situation and what may lie ahead for them and their loved ones.
