Chantel Wells Killed in Truck Accident in DeKalb County, IN

DeKalb County, IN — March 7, 2023, Chantel Wells was killed in a collision with an 18-wheeler around 6:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 6 in DeKalb County.

Crash investigators report Chantel Wells's vehicle was eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 6 and a semi-truck was westbound when the two vehicles collided head-on. The crash's impact reportedly forced Chantel Wells's vehicle off the road into a ditch and the semi-truck to jackknife.

Chantel Wells was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and the semi-truck driver was transported to a medical center with reportedly minor injuries.

Crash investigators are still looking into the cause of the collision.
