Leslie Freeman Agyepong Killed in Semi-Truck Accident in Navarro County, TX

Navarro County, TX -- March 7, 2023, Leslie Freeman Agyepong was killed following an accident involving multiple semi-trucks.

Investigators said that the incident happened at around 2:20 p.m. near I-45 and FM 739, just outside Angus and Corsicana.

Initial details said that 46-year-old Leslie Freeman Agyepong was in a commercial truck going southbound along the interstate. For reasons still unclear, the truck crashed into multiple other semi-trucks.

Agyepong sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. It's unclear if anyone else was injured. Right now, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

It's important to recognize just how complex a commercial truck wreck like this can be. A lot of things can go wrong which even the most experienced drivers can't always avoid. If anyone can appreciate that, it's other truckers that face similar challenges on a daily basis.

Were there mechanical issues? Did the truck's brakes fail? Was there a cargo shift? Were there issues related to a negligent employer that coerces employees to take unnecessary risks or that neglects to maintain their vehicles? Was there another reckless driver involved that left the scene or otherwise wasn't mentioned in the news? Did the victim suffer a medical emergency?

Common or not, a family can't know if they're getting the full story unless investigators consider all possible factors. Even if it's just to rule out those other possibilities, it's important to let the evidence speak for itself. My hope is authorities here are able to dedicate the serious time and effort it takes to investigate a commercial truck wreck, let alone one this chaotic. Otherwise, there may be important details that slip through the cracks.
