El Paso, TX -- March 8, 2023, one person was injured as the result of an accident where a vehicle hit them in a parking lot.

Officials said the incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the Ascarate shopping center off the corner of Delta Drive and Manny Martinez Drive.

It appears that a pedestrian was in the parking lot when a vehicle somehow ran them over. That person was taken to a hospital for treatment. It's unclear if the vehicle stayed at the scene nor if there are any charges or citations being considered.

One thing that did stand out to be is that there is a bar in this particular shopping center. Were the people involved here patrons of that establishment? If so, was this alcohol-related? There can be significantly different avenues to navigate depending on those answers, so hopefully authorities are leaving no stone unturned going forward.
