Desoto, TX -- February 24, 2023, Andrew Taylor Garza was injured due to an accident where two vehicles collided.

According to preliminary information from authorities, the incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. along the I-35E service road at Pleasant Run Road.

Andrew Taylor Garza Injured in Car Accident in Desoto, TX

It appears that 26-year-old Andrew Garza was in a Ford F-150 traveling southbound on the service road. For reasons not yet confirmed, the vehicle crashed with a Cadillac, then spun to a stop at the ramp just off Pleasant Run.

Garza had incapacitating injuries while there were no other confirmed injuries. I can't help wondering if that's something that authorities included in their investigations.

Generally speaking, it's not all that common for one person to be seriously hurt while no one else is when vehicles of a similar size crash. With this incident, it so happens the more seriously injured party was in the larger vehicle. Was it something reasonable, such as that vehicle losing control after a minor collision only to get into a more serious, secondary crash? Or, could this be a sign that someone's seatbelts or airbags didn't function as well as those of the other driver who was able to walk away from the collision?
