One Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — March 7, 2023, one person was killed in a single-vehicle accident around 3:37 a.m. when their vehicle entered Lake Austin.

Crash investigators report several emergency calls stating a vehicle left Scenic Drive and entered Lake Austin. Rescue teams arrived to remove the vehicle and rescue the vehicle's two occupants. Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the driver of the car was later pronounced dead. Another person, believed to be a passenger of the vehicle, is working with police, but there is no information regarding that person's injuries.
