Five Injured in Alleged DWI Accident on FM 2090 in Montgomery County, TX

Montgomery County, TX -- March 5, 2023, five people, including children, were hurt following an accident possible involving intoxication.

Initial details about the crash say that it happened at around 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of FM 2090 and FM 1485. It appears that a family was in a truck going through the crossing when a Honda Accord apparently ran the light and hit them.

Due to the collision, the driver of the truck had to be extricated from the wreckage. His injuries and those of his wife and three children in the vehicle did not appear serious, according to details currently in the news.

The driver of the Honda was placed under arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Right now, investigations are ongoing into the events leading up to the collision.

I talk to people a lot from places like Conroe, The Woodlands, and all the other areas in and around Montgomery County. They, like their neighbors to the south, are tired of reading headlines like these. Everyone in Texas is. Intoxicated driving is a serious problem, which is why I've always been so adamant that there be more public information about the rights citizens have in these situations.

Here, for example, a driver may have a future day in court to answer for his actions. That's all up to the authorities. But victims and families aren't always left solely at the whims of their local prosecutors. They can also take steps to spread awareness through the news and social media groups, they can have investigators look into whether or not a local establishment illegally over-served the driver, and they can speak to their local representatives if they feel there need to be changes made to help prevent these terrible accidents.

Fortunately, current details seem to indicate this crash is a lot less serious than others like it. But that doesn't change the fact there's a family out there that deserves to see there will be adequate consequences for what happened to them. If nothing else, it's a good thing they live in a state that provides several possible avenues through which citizens can see those consequences through.
