Quinyonna Janell Richard Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Carrollton, TX

Carrollton, TX -- March 4, 2023, Quinyonna Janell Richard was killed following an accident where a vehicle hit her on the tollway.

Authorities were called to the area of Sam Rayburn Tollway and Hebron Parkway at around 10:00 p.m. It appears that 30-year-old Quinyonna Richard was walking along northbound lanes when a Nissan Titan hit her. Other vehicles hit her, as well, but it's unclear if they stayed at the scene.

Richard succumbed to fatal injuries due to the collision. Police have not released additional details except that they do not think the Nissan driver was impaired. Investigations are ongoing. I can only hope those investigations are able to give this incident the attention it needs. I've often seen authorities say a driver wasn't drunk, and they just move on. Pedestrian accidents just aren't that high of a priority for some departments. But it's a pretty damn high priority for the victim's loved ones, which is why I hope they get the answers they deserve.
