Three Injured in Truck Accident in Fremont County, IA

Fremont County, IA — February 23, 2023, three people were injured in a pile-up truck accident around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 2 in Fremont County.

Crash investigators report a pickup truck was traveling west on Hwy 2's Levee Bridge when it then slid into a concrete barrier and rotated into westbound traffic facing east. A passenger car traveling west then reportedly hit the pickup truck and a semi-truck hit that passenger vehicle and overturned blocking all lanes of traffic. An SUV had pulled over facing eastbound after seeing the initial pickup truck crash and was also then struck by a passenger vehicle.

Two occupants in the pickup truck and one person from the passenger car that hit the pickup truck were all transported to a local hospital. The severity and extent of injuries have not been reported.
