Gary Wayne Hammond Killed in Truck Accident in Mooresville, NC

Mooresville, NC — February 28, 2023, Gary Wayne Hammond was killed in a truck accident around 1 p.m. on I-77 South near mile marker 32 in Mooresville.

Officials report Gary Wayne Hammond's Chevy Silverado, an International semi-truck, and a Volvo semi-truck were all traveling southbound when the Silverado allegedly rear-ended the International trailer, spun to the right, and then struck the Volvo trailer.

Gary Wayne Hammond suffered fatal injuries. The two truck drivers are reportedly uninjured.
