Barbara Macklin Killed in Car Accident on I-20 at TX-360 in Arlington, TX

UPDATE (March 6, 2023): Details from county officials identified the victim as 75-year-old Barbara Macklin. No further information about the accident can be confirmed at this time.

Arlington, TX -- February 28, 2023, a woman was killed following an accident where two vehicles crashed along I-20.

Investigators said that the incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. in the area of I-20 and Highway 360. Initial details said that a 75-year-old woman was in a Saturn Vue traveling eastbound on I-20. She took the ramp toward northbound TX-360 where the vehicle somehow collided with a Honda Accord. This caused the Saturn to run off-road where it overturned.

The driver of the Saturn sustained fatal injuries due to the crash. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Late at night, those investigations can bring all kinds of things to light. This all may have been entirely unavoidable, involving things like mechanical defects, a medical emergency, a tire blowout, or even some other driver that left the scene.

Of course, a prudent investigator wouldn't overlook more common factors like fatigue or alcohol. It's just a matter of ensuring they have the time and tools needed to keep anything important from slipping through the cracks. If nothing else, this woman's loved ones deserve to know they're getting the full story.
