LaDonna Vincent, Rusty Harris Injured in Truck Accident in Adair County, MO

Adair County, MO -- February 27, 2023, LaDonna Vincent and Rusty Harris were injured after an accident involving a semi-truck.

Authorities reported that the incident happened at around 8:20 a.m. along Highway 6 just outside of Brashear.

According to state highway patrol officials, 21-year-old LaDonna Vincent was in an SUV traveling along the highway. While crossing a small bridge, it appears an oncoming dump truck driven by 63-year-old Rusty Harris somehow lost control, hit the bridge barrier, then overturned. The truck landed on Vincent's SUV.

Due to the crash, both Vincent and Harris sustained serious injuries. No one else appeared to be hurt, and the exact cause of the crash remains unclear at this time.

Obviously something went very wrong to cause the truck here to lose control so suddenly and so dramatically. But it's important that investigators actually know how to get as much evidence as possible to let it speak for itself. It's not always as simple as cell phone usage or speeding, though both of those are absolutely worth considering. But what about other possibilities?

What if a tire blew out? Did the truck driver have a medical emergency? Were they not properly qualified to operate a commercial truck? Was there a defect with the truck? Was the bridge itself in poor condition, causing the truck to lose control? Was there another vehicle involved not mentioned in the initial reports?

It's not about what's likely or not. It's not about finding someone to blame. It's about two people who were seriously hurt and their families who have to deal with the consequences. Getting them the answers they deserve should always be a top priority. While not all departments share that belief, my hope is authorities here do and will take the necessary steps to find out exactly what went wrong here.
